Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Social Worker to join our inpatient psychiatric unit in Southfield, MI. This is a 13-week contract position with the possibility of extension. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health, providing critical support and care to patients in a therapeutic setting.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments of patients.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care plans.
• Provide counseling and support to patients and their families.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions and psychoeducational groups.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
• Advocate for patients' needs and connect them with community resources.
• Document patient interactions and progress accurately in medical records.
• Participate in discharge planning and ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
• Current Social Work license in the state of Michigan.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a mental health setting, preferably in an inpatient psychiatric unit.
• Strong understanding of mental health disorders and treatment modalities.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Empathy, patience, and a commitment to providing high-quality care to patients.
